My only reason to look would be to find a clue to the owner. Maybe there would be an address or landmark that I could recognize. If people would put a sticker inside of their cameras it would help to get them returned.

To be honest, yeah I would to see if I could see who the owner was or some way to get in touch with them. Just for a hint, but not everyone puts a number in their phone to get in touch with them if they lost the phone (house, wife, boyfriend, girlfriend, etc.)

I would probably only look to see if I could get a clue of the owner, then look around to see if anyone looks like the people in the photos. If I found it at a store, or somewhere with an info, lost and found, then I would take it there. Otherwise, I would keep it. No use in just throwing it away.

I found a pocketbook once with both things in it and I only looked through the cell phone contacts list so i could find a friend to brign the stuff back to

I don't know about a cell phone. I'd probably call the first person on speed dial. The camera, definitely.

I found a cell phone in a parking lot once. I would not look through the photos. I handed in to the customer service desk.

sure, i took a picture of my name and address, so that if found, some one would know how to contact me. If they did the same, i could send it right back.

Honestly, I would look through it. I'm just too curious of a person to pass up the chance. And hopefully i would recognize someone in the picture so i could return the phone/camera. After awhile though I would probably keep it, my patience & attention span only go so far. Finders keepers?
