  • Unless your studies involves a lot of public speaking in French, if you can write and read it, you'll be fine. French immersion isn't the best place to learn how to speak proper French though. :/ It's usually pretty improvised, and derives from English speak a little too much. ''Ils sont est'' instead of ''Ils étaient'' or ''un maison'' instead of ''une maison''. Well, the French immersion school I was in was like that, not saying all of them are. I just hope they taught you how to write it properly. But, I can't speak French OR English worth my damn life because of my busted up accent, and I worked with the public for four years, so I think you'll be fine. :) Plus, picking up on an accent when you're young is easier, my problem is that I spoke two languages at the same time constently, so it got muddled. But if you're in a French only place, you'll adapt before you know it.
