When the police around LAX give you a ticket...for not having your headlights on for 1.5 miles, (A) How much approx. is the fine? (B) If I do decide to show up to court, what can I expect and not expect? (getting the ticket revoked, off my record, etc.)

That's for the judge and prosecutor to decide. As the old saying goes "Carry in your hat in your hand" and eat some humble pie when standing before the judge and answer politely and sincerely and may be he will let you go. mr Bill
