My goldfish have recently started hanging out on the bottom. They perk up when I come near the tank, but go back down. Water test is good.

You're reading I had my goldfish in a gallon tank for 2 yrs. He started getting big so I bought him a five gallon tank. I added two other goldfish and days later he got very ill. The other two goldfish are fine. I've since moved him out but he's still sick. HELP?

I did add some sort of of stress coat when I set up the tank. How long would that last? He's really just about dead at this point but I can't bear to kill him. If I added this how long would it take to work? Should I add it and then puit him back in the tank? I am worried about the other two fish sensing his sickness and hurting him. Thank you so much for your answers.

put 10-12 drops of stress coat in. You cannot over do stress coat. If your fish is getting picked on, there may not be any hope. Since you put new fish in a new environment, your nitrates could be spiking and killing your old fish, if you can keep him out do so. If you have an old glass bowl that is large enough your fish can survive in there for a few days. Make sure to put in two to five drops of stress coat for this. Sorry I couldn't help more.
