Thanks roadpup2! Wow! That is a whole bunch of tourists! It will be good for your community, bringing in all that much needed revenue.
It's a major business here. We have a boardwalk, beach, etc. It's the Jersey Shore--we exist for the summer.

Thanks doggie S! That's too bad. I think tourists provide us with an insight of other cultures. Plus, the money they spend is a big boost to the local economy.

Thanks Thinker!I didn't realize that Texas was a hot spot for tourists in the winter.Interesting.
You are welcome...Texas will have over 280,000 "Winter Texans" during the winter. There is much to do here and is more laid back than say Florida. Also our citrus is much better!
Is the n.s. in your name because you are a nufee? I used to live in Canada and miss it very much. Oh and I have an 8 yr old shuit-zu.... Answer 5 out of 17 by THE TRAVEL SLUT on Aug 23, 2008 at 7:06 pm Permalink

Thanks TRAVEL SLUT! Probably due to the poor economic situation in the US. We haven't seen that many US visitors on the east coast of Canada this year like we have in previous years. That could be because the high gas prices and the fact that US citizens are not getting the GST refund like in previous years.
Those are EXACTLY the reasons...

Thanks jangobean! Wow, I can't believe you have no tourists in the beautiful city of Manchester.
I live on the outskirts of Manchester, near a town called Oldham.
Manchester does have a few tourists, but not many to be honest.
My Mother is formerly from Darlington. Is that far from Manchester?

Thanks sm00z! Do you live in New Hampshire? I love country fairs. We get many tourists here in Nova Scotia during the fall too, to see the fall foilage. We call our country fairs, exhibitions here in Canada. I attended one just last week in a neighbouring town. Our exhibition begins September 3rd.
You're welcome, marsha. I live in Connecticut which is next door to New York state. The weather here is going to be gorgeous every day this week so the country fairs will probably be getting record setting crowds this weekend.:)
Oh I wish I was there. Nice weather and a country fair, what could be better.
