  • The Firefox team wanted to raise $50,000 to put a full-page ad in the NYT. In the event, they raised much more than that - but I would guess that was the cost of the ad, including artwork etc. It is a difficult question as to whether any ad is "worth it". Some great industrialist said "half of my advertising budget is wasted - I just don't know which half". It is only later, if ever, that you will know what effect an advert had. And even when you know the effect, how much is that effect "worth"?
