Many of the puppets look very familiar. Were they patterned after real life actors?

    Yes, and ITC Films was never nebulous about it. Lady Penelope, for example, was sculpted to look exactly like Sylvia Anderson, Gerry Anderson's wife, as she would also be the voice of Penelope.

    Scott Tracy was patterned after Sean Connery.

    Jeff Tracy was Lorne Greene.

    Alan was a blonde version of Frankie Avalon.

    The Hood was patterned after Eule Brinner.

    Various other characters were made to look like William Holden, Gary Cooper, and James Cagney.
