Just the 12 weeks unpaid leave per the Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA).
If I want more time, I can take any accrued vacation or sick leave I have stored up. Once that's used up I can take more unpaid leave with the approval of my supervisor.
It's not much, and it's unpaid at that.
It stinks.
In America you have to do it during your lunch break.
In Canada, you get 12 months. The company doesn't have to pay anything, but employment insurance pays you 55% of your salary for the full 12 months. By law the company must hold your job for you when you come back.
Larger companies and gov't agencies often offer maternity plans which will top up your income to 90% for the first 35 weeks, and allow an optional additional unpaid 6 weeks off if you choose.
six wks paid and can take an additional 6 wks unpaid. I took my total pay over six wks and divided into however many wks were left in my pregnancy. I set aside money weekly to "pay myself" during those six wks. of unpaid leave

What if you are scheduled to have a C-section, and you arrange time off from work, BUT, you have the baby naturally (vaginal birth) are you still entitled to the time off for a C-section birth?
