No. There is a direct correlation between a lack of faith in God and a lack of faith in God. Intelligence has nothing to do with it, even though studies show vague correlations.

Yes there is. This of course doesn't mean that there aren't any very bright people who are religious, it's just a general tendency that follows logically. Intelligence has a lot to do with abstract thinking and logic, if someone is a very rational person, it's very hard to accept something as true if there is no evidence. And additionally, intelligent people often get higher education, and learn science that explains things that people without this education need god as 'easy and comforting' explanation.
