Generally, from a port *behind* the light inside the trunk or rear hatch opening. Don't try to remove the plastic fixture / housing for the lamp / bulb. Just open the port behind the light, grab the base of the socket with wires going into it, and turn it counter-clockwise relative to its mounting surface (that is, counter-clockwise if you were inside the trunk and looking out the back end of the vehicle), and pull it out when it loosens. Since you'll buy the bulbs in pairs, the way they're generally marketed, replace the bulbs on both sides of the vehicle and save the old one that still works in the glovebox as an emergency spare.
