That's interesting. I think as humans we often have to make a choice between being right i.e. knowing our "truth" is the real truth and being happy and yet we usually opt for being right about things rather than being happy. To be happy you have to let things go to some degree. I know it's the truth that I was mistreated as a child but living my life in daily ackowledgement of that fact will never make me happy.

Where ever did you come up with these as "basic human needs"? Not one of them is essential. They are all "nice to have", for sure, but hardly essentials in the way that "oxygen, water and shelter" are. (And of those three, "shelter" takes a distant third place to the other two.)
No, considering how many people around the world still vote and go to church, as if either of those activities matter a damn, it's obvious that "knowing the truth" is highly over-rated. Witnessing the wars (macro) and frequent breakups and divorces (micro) and general level of misunderstanding, misgiving and mistrust among humans, it's clear that "love" is a nonessential. And finally, judging by the general pessimism and glum feeling that overwhelms so much of the population every Monday morning, I don't think "being happy" is anyone's priority, either.
I'm happy making up my own truth and loving. Believing that I'm loved by a few is a huge plus; please don't bust my bubble.
