Why didn't god resurrect Javon Thompson?

If God broke the natural laws of the Universe now and then, you wouldn't be able to count on anything. What if He decided to turn off gravity for 5 minutes? Or make water freeze at 50 degrees instead of 32 degrees? Knowing that He might do things like that would drive us all crazy. We have to be able to count on the rules of the Universe as being consistent. It would be a very cruel God that played with us by changing the rules whenever He felt like it. It's terrible for Javon. But you really don't want a God that does random magic.

In my opinion, he didn't resurrect Javon Thompson because he hasn't resurrected anyone, or performed any miracles (i.e. changes to the natural order of things), ever, and never will (with the possible exception of the apocalypse). God created the world the way it is, and he doesn't interfere to change those ways. That doesn't mean he isn't here or is a dead God, it just means the world is the way it is and if it appears to change its ways, that is only because we didn't understand it properly before. There are stories in the Bible of resurrections. There is Jesus, obviously; also I think there is a little girl brought back from the dead. In my opinion, these are not literal, historical facts. These stories have other significances. However, if you do believe in miracles, the answer I can provide is that God works in mysterious ways, and we can't possibly know why he apparently helps one person but doesn't help another. Perhaps Javon Thompson is better off where he is now. Or perhaps there is another reason. Either way, the ways of God are mysterious and unknowable.

If the followers have the power - like you said in your answer to 'Anonymous' - then why is your question directed at God? Should you be asking why a follower didn't resurrect him?

It's not time yet. Javon was too late for the first fruits resurrection, and too soon for the general resurrection. Give it time. It'll happen.
