  • That is so weird because that same thing happened right after my mom died. I was really freaked out about death and feeling like I couldnt catch my breath and thinking I couldnt breathe. But my counselor said something helpful: "Even if you cannot catch your breath, you may think you will die, but in reality due to lack of breath, you will pass out which in turn will make you breathe normal while you are knocked out." so idk if that helps but it always made me feel a little better.
  • yeah, the same thing happens to me. what i do is distract myself. i know it sounds weird, but i think up little stories in my head. having said that, if a panic attack is inevitable, close your eyes, breathe deeply and recite a mantra to yourself (it's ok it's ok for example) and think about something else. i sometimes pray, or think up a little story - my imagination has become fantastic over the years because of this ha ha.
  • If the therapist was helpful then yes I would recommend going back and dealing with this. Otherwise, find another therapist who can help you. Hypnosis is a good way to help reduce anxiety and fears because it deals with the same part of your mind that creates the fear.
