OMG if that was my baby he wouldnt have to worry about jail! How the hell did he only get 6 months??? Thats totally not enough time.

Its a fairly decent sentence. Though it probably requires two commas: A man, who was caught on camera repeatedly punching a friend's sleeping baby, has been jailed for six months. But pretty good given the standard of some of the spelling and grammar on AB!

It depends why he was punching the baby. Maybe the man deserves a medal. Please tell us why he was punching the baby so that we can answer your question from more than a one-sided viewpoint.

6 Months??? OMG that's all!!! No wonder crime increases yearly. Criminals realize the penalty for crime is slim to none. On the TV program "Parole Board" a man received a 10 year sentence for killing a woman. Can you imagine 10 years. He was up for parole before the ten years was up, and got it. The incredible cost just to put one person in jail, the investigation, the trial and all that goes with it, only to give them a small sentence and let them out so soon is a travesty of justice and puts us all at risk. I think "Justice" in the court system is just a memory of times past. It sure does not exist in this day and age.

The parents are to blame here. They knew something wasn't "right" and continued to have this man around. Not so worried about their child, if all they were willing to do is put a f'g camera in his room! This situation would have been avoided had they taken action, period.

Get out! Someone actually caught one of their friends punching their baby????? The first thing I'd do is get rid of the camera and the film... Wouldn't want anything tying me to my buddy's rotting corpse that would spell M.O.T.I.V.E. Then there would be the matter of my alibi at the tennis club... My opinion of the sentence... Is that there would have been no sentence. "Last time I saw 'Joe', he was headin' up to go fishin' with some boys from the tavern."

Sounds about right. But where was the baby's parents when this happened? As a parent, I would NEVER trust anyone with my young children, let alone baby. The only person I'd trust taking care of my young kids is someone very close to me and someone I can trust, like my brother or mother. The guy who did that obviously is a nut-case.....punishing him by jailing him longer would not help. A lobotomy is more in order. Lol.

I want to know how he could repeatedly punch the baby, yet it remains sleeping. It just seems unrealistic - you'd think the kid would wake up. Must have a rock-hard head or something.

6 months ?!!??!?!??!!!!!!! ridiculous, a person that does that really has no heart, no normal person would do that, and that man is a danger to society !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Who would do such a thing? A six months old baby? Had the baby been my own, he would not have been needing to see a judge but he would have needed a hospital. Anyway, I think he should be sentenced to as long as sentencing guidelines will allow for his offense. He should also be forced to wear a sign in prison with the reason of him being there. I bet the other inmates would give him some punches too.

I think that it sucks! I also think that a better sentence would be to have his balls tied off like a pigs until they fall off, to ensure that he never reproduces himself!

Well, as long as every night while this man was sleeping the biggest, baddest inmate in the jail punched this man in the face while he slept, then I would be cool with it.

seems pretty damn lenient, especially when you consider that there is a minimum mandatory sentencing in america that will get you put away for years for all sorts of victimless crimes, like having a gram of cocaine in your pocket...
