Hotel. A motel is cheaper and not as nice. Hostels allow anyone so you don't know who you're sleeping next to.

Hotel, but a B&B is even better.

Whichever one you can afford

Depends on where I am going and how long I will be there. Hostels are a cheap way for a couple to travel through Europe but I dont suggest them for extended stays anywhere. Motels are good for traveling across country and Hotels... are for a vacation where luxury and relaxation is the objective.

you know, "hotel" (from french "hôtel") comes from the word "hostel," after the sound change osC > ôC, where C is a consonant.

Traveled in Europe in Hostels. I met very interesting people this way.

I'm more a B&B or camping person. I've stayed in very nice motels and hotels, I guess they are okay, but to me an enclosed building type place is just a place to sleep and change my clothes, maybe shower and cleanup. I don't really care about where I stay then as long as it isn't expensive and it's clean. That's all I ask.

They're all popular choices but i like to have space and land around me so i usually stay at a resort near a beach that has gardens, a pool and a waterfall.

I prefer hotels.
