Only because people are no longer encouraged to think or spell correctly. If there's not a spell-checker, they just don't even try. Maybe it's a question of "sociolidgy".

I just think back to the times where we've experinced a blackout, and how freaked out everyone gets. I think the more mankind becomes reliant, the more expanded technolidgy becomes, all it takes is for something to go very wrong and we're all screwed.
