  • You have a point in saying it was not greek, but iw we think like that, there was never Greece, since every city had its own rules, there existed cities-countries. So i would say crete was always greece
  • I agree with the first answer that Knossos was located on Crete, but not with his/her assertation that it was not a Greek city. The decipherment of the Linear B script shows clearly that the Minoans spoke a form of ancient Greek, but used a different writing system which predated the Greek alphabet. Knowing that it's hard to say why one would think it was not a "Greek" city.
