  • yeah, when you drive metal shafts through your flesh that sort of thing tends to happen
  • Probably you are okay by this time, but here... If you used gold or surgical steel, it should not be allergy to the metal. Navel pierces are tricky because you can't stop moving around to let it rest. Avoid anything that may snag on it:lace undies, bathing suit laces, crocheted cotton bedcover, etc. Saltwater soaks and gentle antibac soap are a daily ritual to heal pierces. No irritants or contaminants: no swimming pool, no body spray, no talc powder, no bubble bath, etc. to get in the wound. Don't wear any 'shields' until it is well healed. Let no one touch it. It's an open wound. Ask the piercer, if still having woes, or even "The Body Art Book". Sounds lame, but well written with pics.
  • All piercings have ups and downs. My newest piercing (my girls) are very tempramental. One day they'll both hurt and bleed a tiny bit, then the next day be fine, then the next day only one will be sore. Even piercings you think have been healed for awhile can seem to slide backwards. Just be patient and if your really worried go talk to your piercer.
