  • THE BEST suggestions I can offer: 1) Read the ads for the flea markets, yard sales and garage sales in the weekly local papers. 2) Check the pawn shops [a/k/a "hock shops"]. Many times they have used instruments at a pretty good prices. THE ONLY names I remember and am a lille familiar with - through the "Antiques Road Show": Gibson Guitars Martin Guitars. These are two different companies. Just to get "a feel for the market" and what's going on, make an appointment with the music teacher at a local high school. He or she should be of enormous help. If that teacher doesn't know, ask for a recommendation of someone who does know. (AND DON'T forget to "tip" that wonderful person with a pretty good gratuity - no less than $10. Thanks for asking your Q! I enjoyed answering it! VTY, Ron Berue Yes, that is my real last name! Sources: My wonderful family! Some of whom own and manage pawn shops.
