An official MLB game will be at least 4.5 innings. If the game is called due to any reason the results are official if the home team is winning and they have completed a minimum of 4.5 innings. If the visitors are winning then the game is official after 5 complete innings of play. The game will continue after 9 innings in the event of a tie until there is a winner. The game can be suspended and continued at a later date.
