I am not sure what you are referring to by this question so would like further clarification but I can answer in part anyway.... Trust is a judgement call... and you have to work out what your criteria is for establishing trust in any given situation. Some times you don't know until the situation presents itself. As for online, all I can say is that I trust people I know (I mean... really know....friends, family; real people that I have met and have been able to get to know and build trust). And of course I take what precautions I can to protect my information when online. You have no way of knowing if this feedback is from a man, a woman, a child or a well trained dog! Your instincts and experiences might tell you that what I say is correct because it 'feels correct' and that may mean you can trust this feedback in this instance. However, I may provide answers to another question you have posted sometime and completely floor you with a flawed answer...at least flawed in your eyes if not mine! Of all the user I have talked to online since 1996, when I bought my first computer, I have kept in touch with 2 people who I have never met but whom I now 'trust'....when online....and it only took 7 years or so to get there...... Trust none but the trustworthy.

Only you can answer that question, based on your own morals and values. "When in doubt don't" is a good rule to follow, regardless of what it relates to in life. Members of eBay are encouraged to allow other members to view their Feedback Profile, to encourage trust in the community. However, there might be times when someone would elect to temporarity make their eBay Feedback Profile "private" on their account. Such as when there's an issue to be resolved, or until specific info posted has been removed. This is part of the reason why eBay gives members the choice of having their Feedback Profile notes public or private. From eBay's site: Feedback is a valuable indicator of a buyer or seller's reputation on eBay. Your member profile includes a feedback score, as well as comments from other members you've bought from and sold to. As an eBay user, you should use caution and good judgment when leaving feedback for another user. What you write will be a permanent part of that user's record on eBay. eBay's feedback-related policies are designed to encourage open and honest trading. However, to ensure that feedback is used for the proper purpose and not abused, eBay has some basic rules that must be followed. Make Your Feedback Profile Public or Private - You will probably want to make your Feedback Profile public because that generates trust and increases the likelihood that other eBay members will do business with you. After all, you'd probably want to see another member's Feedback Profile before you bought from them, right? A private Feedback Profile, on the other hand, can only be accessed by you. You will find that your Feedback Profile is a valuable asset at eBay, helping you earn the trust and respect of fellow eBay participants. By making your Feedback Profile private, you may be jeopardizing other eBay participants' desire to conduct business with you. We strongly encourage you to consider this carefully when making the decision to make your Feedback Profile private. Feedback is each member’s reputation on eBay and is the foundation of trust on eBay. eBay understands that there may be times when a comment so undermines a member’s reputation that they believe they must hide it. Although eBay understands this, eBay also believes that transparency is one of the pillars of eBay. Members who hide feedback have the feedback score next to their User ID replaced with the term “private”. This tends to encourage potential buyers and sellers to more closely review the member’s feedback profile.
