Which of these do you use & what do you expect to find at: garage sale, yard sale, flea market, white elephant sale, rummage sale, block sale, tag sale, "something else" sale ...?

I love that term "porch sale". Shoot, I love hearing about you having a porch! :)
Ok, so you're looking at electronics and your wife is checking out the children's clothing. The way you describe it, it sounds like both of you are happy to go to these things and look around. Both of you seem to enjoy the hunt. :) That's nice to hear too. Not only might one of you find something that particular day, but it's something you can do together and enjoy it - so its works on a couple of levels.
I can relate to your wife re: using coupons. There's something really good about seeing "x amount of money" come off your bill at the grocery store! (and it's just because you used scissors and planned ahead a little. COOL) Of course, that might also justify a tour around some garage sales! LOL!!

You are Very Welcome, debtahals..I even have a "rocker" on the porch :)
We are both retired now, so have plenty of time on our hands, and we do enjoy "the hunt". This is a great time of the year to go to the yard sales' seems like everybody is getting rid of their stuff, before winter. I guess it is time for "us" to have another porch sale! LOL!

Yes, maybe it's all part of that preparing to hunker down for the winter syndrome. (I must made that up. lol) No matter, as you say, it's great fun however or whyever they're happening. --- And just for the record? I'm more than happy that rocker is on your porch. :)

Aaaahhh, so you enjoy all those different ways of shopping .. no matter what they're called locally. Ditto for me re: what you're looking for. Of value. Vintage. I'll add "for one of my collections" .. like an interesting shot glass. Or, "something useful". Might not be valuable, but it's in good condition and can se it. Right now, I'm on the lookout for a decent knife sharpener, for example. Thanks! :)
