  • If you are not used to it increasing your vegetables can cause gas. You might want to try beano. It is an enyme that helps you digest your food better.
  • I would think so! I get a lot gas when I eat brocoli, beans and cabbage!
  • Some veggies like broccoli beans and fruits have a kind of sugar your body can not digest, many people can tolerate diffrent levels of that sugar. If I can not even tolerate that sugar I eat two spoon fulls of beans right away im going to be polluting the air.
  • Beano. How embarassing. Hehe, guess I'll pick some up!
  • Yes, I recently made a cauliflower and broccoli augratin that was a deadly combination. I think the health benefits are worth it. I guess you will have to follow the advice of the man in the commercial who says "don't eat beans before the big meeting"!
  • Possibly, if your system is more sensitive to the amount of fiber in your new diet. It would probably subside over time, as your body gradually adjusts. But if it's uncomfortable or embarrassing to you, I would suggest trying a supplement called "Beano". My mom uses it, since I've been weaning her off her fast food diet and preparing healthy meals for her, and I can tell you from PERSONAL experience (sorry, Mom!) that it works wonders!
  • Yes, unfortunately. Both meat and highly processed foods tend to be broken down in the upper bowel. More fibrous and less prepared food, which is more healthy for you, tends to get to the lower bowel where gas is generated. But that fuller use of your digestive system is part of the reason that it is better for you.
  • Veggies do tend to give you more gas than meat does.
