Fascism. At least fascists don't deliberately kill their own citizens en masse.

Whats the difference? Both end up the same thing, that is, totalitarian dictatorship under the guise of being for 'the people'. They are very nearly identical to one another in terms of goals and ideology (welfare state for lack of a better term). Of course, I am talking about it strictly as idealism here, in practice you end up with Mussolini, Hitler, Stalin, Mao, etc. so I see little difference (though Mussolini MAY have been a little less murderous than the others). That said, we are already living in a proto-fascist state here in America. Not the old fashioned goose-stepping militaristic variety of Mussolini or Hitler, ours is more like fascism with a smiley face and corporate sponsors (for now at least). The problem is its been ongoing since the Wilson administration (with perhaps a brief hiatus during the 1920s), the brainwashing so thorough and complete that most people can't even recognize it for what it really is. But I digress greatly, to answer the question I can only say that I'll be dead in short order when we devolve into a more militaristic fascism as I'm too much of a dissident to be left alive under either system.

Doctrinal, modern Communism is far better than doctrinal, modern fascism. Communism arose in an extremely violent context and hence evolved violently itself - fascism created violence itself from the outset.
