All that means is if you sell the house, he gets paid before you do. There is a thing called the freedom of information act. Yes he has the legal right to look you up.
  • Thanks to you all for the reply. I am seeking counsel now. Also, I am trying to understand who (if) anyone has a legal right to dig up ss #'s and dob. Both the FTC and Social Security are unable to answer me. Bottom line is; I was told by the collection agent that my information was given to them by the contractor. I'm not sure if I believe them. I do believe a collection agency has the right to look up ss #'s and dob's.
