Ps2 slim wont play dvd's when disc tries to play the picture goes dark to light and picture moves down, ps2 slim is new and even tried using brand new dvd's without any luck. the only dvd's that work are burned disks. please help, what can I do to fix

If you are connecting the PS2 through a VCR, it could be the VCR's anti-piracy settings preventing the DVDs from playing properly. Burned DVDs do not trigger that setting as they are no longer copy-protected (games use a different encryption).

The easiest way around this (if your TV does not support red, yellow, and white connections) is to purchase a mini-modulator. They can be found for around $20 at any electronics store.

I have a PS2 that after I was trying to configure it. The set won't play DVD's. It initiates the play mode then turns to a black screen. Pleasssseeee HHHHEeelllpppp!!!!!

Once you have reset the ps2 to play dvds, how do you reset the ps2 to play games? Or should it automatically read games once they're inserted?
