Go to desktop,use your mouse and do a right click ,point your mouse to Arrange Icons By - Ensure that your "Show Desktop Icons" hs a tick on it, this will bring your icons back. If this does not help, try to do a system restore,click Start- All Programs -Accessories-System Tools-System Restore. You can restore your system to a earlier time. If this still does not help download Windows Service Pack 3 at Http://www.soft32.com if you are still running on Service Pack 2

RESTORING DESKTOP ICONS 1. Left click any where on desktop and menu opens, scroll down and left click on Properties.. 2. Click on the desktop tab when display opens, then click the button that says Customize Desktop. 3. When this display open you can do one of two things, either click restore default Or put check marks in the boxes and click on each item and click OK 4. Then click apply and OK to close Display Properties box. If this doesn’t restore all icons then go to : 1. Start 2. All programs - find the programs that you need icon for. 3. Right click on that item to get menu, a drop down list opens, find where it says Send to and there will be a option that says create desktop shortcut, click it And a icon will appear for that item.
