dunno.. kisses are great, but kinda.. wrong to me if you aren't in eachothers embrace already. Standing almost without your bodies touching just won't do it for me. So I would prefer to say "both", but a good, long hug beats a hugless kiss in my oppinion

I would have to go with HUGS... they are like smiles in that they are a universal language and there are no age barriers, relationship barriers or gender barriers. They can comfort, congratulate, bring joy, bring warmth, say hello or goodbye, and just generally make you feel so good! I LOVE HUGS! You don't have to distinguish between passionate or friendly pecks like you do with kisses! And when I'm sick and don't wanna spread my germs to my husband I can still enjoy his hugs! And there is no "inappropriate" way or place for hugs!

A kiss can lead to a multitude of things that you don't want to express at that time or with that person. A kiss is intimate and allows that person into your unguarded space.
A hug can be both intimate or as impersonal as a greeting of a long lost friend. You can dictate the way the relationship is going with a hug.
But to be held in a hug by a caring person who is totally into your needs and wants is heaven. Sigh.
