  • No, for we are His creation, and He is our creator, regardless of whether we believe in Him or not. I see that you are trying to make your initial question contradict with that passage, but it seems to me that they agree.
  • No, we are not equal to God and there is no where in Scripture that leads one to believe this. Unless of course you make a habit of twisting Scripture to mean something that it doesn't. You would do well to read verses 1-17 in their entirety. Jesus said nothing of humans being equal with God or to Him. Jesus was the model servant to His Father in heaven and showed His servant attitude to His disciples. We, His followers, must also be servants willing to serve any way that glorifies God. Jesus lead by "example". He was showing His disciples what it meant to be a humble servant. When Jesus said that servants are not greater than their master, nor messengers greater than the one who sent them, that is precisely what He meant. There was no clandestine meaning to what He said. It's pretty self-evident when one reads this in context.
  • We were not made in the image. We are the image. Mystics have known we are god for centuries.
  • We are limited in many ways- so how can we be gods? We don't even understand our own body not to mention diseases, science is just at elementary stage- we have a long way to go still. If we are gods we are not very bright..indeed.
  • No-one is equal to God. No-one.
  • I do not understand your reasoning. He is not saying that we are equal to God, he is showing that the one sending has authority to send and therefore is the head over the one sent. • It doesn't say we are equal, it just says we are not greater. How could you interpret that as us being equal? "Fans are not greater than WWE superstars" By your logic, I just said fans are equal to WWE superstars. See how that doesn't make sense?
  • sounds like it
    • Jenny_Rizzo
So that means you are equal with God?

no, i probably misunderstood the question
  • No, keep in mind that Jesus humbled Himself for the sake of mankind. Philippians 2:5-8 "Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: 6 Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: 7 But made Himself of no reputation, and took upon Him [the form of a servant], and was made in the likeness of men: 8 And being found in fashion as a man, [He humbled Himself], and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross."
