If all adults disappeared from the Earth, leaving children 12 & under behind (lets say due to an alien experiment), what would news headlines say all across the world? (You may also include the body of the news article(s) if you can think them up.)

- My youngest sister's middle school has its own newspaper, made mainly by the students themselves. And I think more & more elementary schools are starting to have their own newspapers too. Therefore, wouldn't the kids in these journalism classes have some idea about how to run a paper machine? Also consider broadcasting media, like radio & TV stations.

- Yeah but nothing the size of a national newspaper. Besides they write those but I think that the school contracts the copying and making it into newspaper form out to a private company.

The headlines would read if they figured out how to run the machines-"WHERE'S MY MOMMY?"

  Some middle & even elementary schools run an occasional (weekly or monthly) school newspaper. The kids who are responsible for them would probably make a trip up to the local TV station and try to practice being a news anchor. Wonder what they'd say there...
  
  As for newspapers, some kids may have an idea on how to run the machines, but how will they distribute them? I guess they'll have to learn how to drive first.
  
  Radio stations- yeah, I think they'll learn how to use those quick...
  
  News websites- Even though the kids who know how to program websites won't do it as professionally, they should still get the news across.
  
  Something unrelated but real serious- what about the INFRASTRUCTURE?

Well, you might want to look at Uganda. The average age there is 15 years old. All because of the genocide. I guess whoever can responsibility will do so the best they can.

It wouldn't. Children have no immediate use for newspapers. It would take quite some time before they decided it would be worth the effort to make them. Who'd take the time to deliver? I think they'd all just be trying to cope and figure out how to go from there.

Well besides the fact that a 12 year old doesn't report the news.

I belive it would be something like "Human extinction imminate"

For the most part I would think you would need people who where a bare minimum of 16 years old if you wanted people to survive in the long term.

Certainly people who where under twelve would not have any idea how to get started rebuilding human civilization.

The 12 year olds that are left would not know how to create headlines, or news or anything, there probably would be none, but if there was one it might be called "New drinking law lovers legal drinking and smoking age to 12"
