Why is it that without fail, everytime i leave my house, it's as if i've given up any right to be left alone and treated with respect? Why are my difference an excuse for people to "comment" on me, as if i was on display for them?

Sorry, that's just life: nobody controls it, and things we don't like happen.

As a practical matter, everyone should learn to establish appropriate "personal boundaries" -- i.e. this is the "I don't let people abuse me" attitude. That may mean ignoring them sometimes, or letting them know (as politely as possible) that their comments are not acceptable, etc. It does NOT include hitting them, insulting their mothers, going off on irrational rants, etc.

It's just life. Good idea to make peace with it.
