  • Leave both "clippings" to a pro. Talk to your vet or reputable pet store.
  • I can't speak for nails, but I know we always clipped our chicken's wings on one side and left the other. This makes it impossible for them to balance and they can't fly. You are only clipping feathers, and they grow back. Just don't cut the wing itself. You really don't have to clip them all that short. Just enough to throw them off balance.
  • You really shouldn't do that as the birds largest muscles are it's pectorals which it uses for flight, if if can't fly it can't sufficiently burn off enough calories to be at a healthy weight, also the pectorals will start to atrophy.
