How many books do you read a year? And how many do you buy? Roughly, of course.

    I reckon I read somewhere around 150 books a year, a mixture of novels that I read cover to cover very quickly and non-fiction, poetry or short story collections that I tend to dip in and out of over a longer period. I only buy about 20 or so of those at most, mostly I get them from the library or borrow off friends.

    24. I kept track this year because I am in a book club. I buy about 25-50%. We have a great library system here in Seattle, the King Co. Library. I get the rest there. I can do an internet search and order it. Then no matter where it is, it gets to my closest local library, usually in about a day.

    I'm almost embarrassed to say but I probably buy at least 200 books a year, probably more. I read 2 novels each week. It helps me fall asleep! You can't imagine how it has helped my vocabulary LOL

    Some friends and I have an informal exchange, meeting every month or so to trade books. I probably buy about 30 books a year and read about 200 -- suspense, legal drama, mystery, biography, history, philosophy, poetry, historical fiction.

    I buy and read around 40-50 books a year. They range from biographies to politics to theoretical physics. I used to devour science fiction and fantasy books when I was younger and have about fifteen good-sized boxes of them in my attic reflecting this! I think this is probably one of the best things my mom gave me: a thirst for reading.

    I don't realy read books. Pretty much the only thing I would willingly read is a biography or something.

    My commute is an hour via subway so I ususally go through one normal length paperback every two days. I usually borrow them from friends.

    I cannot say for sure but dozens and a lot of them the lazy way I find now if I read in bed i never sleep but if I tape read (listening to books) i can drop off to sleep

    I'm not sure. Last year I read about 18 books during my summer vacation... plus about 5 from the previous school year. So about 23 last year. It was then I discovered how fun reading can be :) I can't wait till this summer so I can read new books! yay!

    I don't usually buy books unless I know that I will love the book and re-read it again. I borrow them from my public library. I read for pleasure whenever I don't have something that I have to read for school, which usually means that I'm reading during Christmas holidays, reading week and the summer and I don't keep track because it varies with my school and work load

    I probably read 25 to 35 books a year for myself. I probably read another 200 plus per year to my kids. I would say that the majority of them are purchased, but I get books at yard sales, flea markets and library book sales. $1.00 for a hardcover, $0.50 for a paperback and $0.10 to $0.25 each for kids books seem to be the going rate.

    I probably read about 15 I novels a year, but I never buy them (I've never read the same book twice so not much point).
    I tend to buy hard back books about bands and artists and that kind of thing, because you can pick these books up time and again, just have a flick through and look at the photo's or paintings or whatever.

    About 30 i would say, and i always buy them used and then pass them on to a charity shop.

    If i have really loved the book, i write on the inside cover 'I really hope that you enjoy this book as much as i have' and then leave it on the tube (subway) for someone to find

    ROTFLMAO! Oh sorry...Take a deep breath...Thanks, I feel much better. You see, I happen to be a book editor. I checked my records for 2006: I read 128 books for work. I probably read between 25 and 30 for pleasure. I'm on track to duplicate those numbers for this year. Sometimes I think I have no life, but I love my job, although most of what I read for work is poor quality and will never see the light of day. It's still quite satisfying.

    A good many, but I don't know how many per year.

    Maybe tewnty some, depending on the length, diffculty, and what you consider a 'book'.

    If the Complete Works of Shakespeare is only counted as one, insted of counting each play as a book, I've not read many. If reading Dante's Divine Comedy only counts as one, it's not many.

    But I'd say... going by this year alone, about...

    Well, if we count each play/part as a book, then I've already read thirty plus this year.

    Otherwise, it'd be... like, five.
