You should talk to either a dermatologist or even your primary care physician and ask about prescription options (like Acutane, etc.). I got a prescription for Differin gel and it worked like magic. If you use too much it can dry your skin, but it gets rid of both acne and acne scarring, and it's good for pretty much any degree of severity of acne you have (whereas acutane is only recommended for severe acne). Seriously though, if the over-the-counter stuff and home remedies haven't worked for you yet, you're wasting your time and should see about prescriptions.

Yeah, we got him the differin. I guess we will just have to wait until he grows out of the puberty stage and his testosterone levels balance out.

Egg Yolk. It's an old wives tale and I've never used it but it is supposed to work from the high amounts of vitamin A, which coincidentally, is in Proactiv. So yolk only on the face, time amount unknown, wash off in warm or tepid. At least it's cheap.

HMMM, I seem to remember a product called NuSkin back in the early 90's. It contained egg whites. Some sort of home facial. It dried hard on the face and kept it tight until it was time to wash it off. Eggs are fairly inexpensive, and I think we could give that a shot. Thanks for the reminder!

The problem with clearisil is that it dries the skin, and if you have really oily skin, it will only come back double. Thanks though.

you might be dealing with rosacea which means traditional acne treatments will not work and may make things worse. see your dermatologist...if you are seeing one and your condition isn't improving, acne may not be the correct diagnosis.

My son had acne that wasn't too bad, but non the less wanted it gone. For good. He went to the dermatologist and was put on Acutane. In five months he doesn't have one pimple. And he won't for the rest of his life., Yes. That's how well this works. It has side effects, like all drugs, but he experinced none. And will remain acne free for the rest of his life.

if u cant afford it try this. it well work less well but it works on very bad pimples. make tea then tae the teabag and put it on the breakout. let it rest there for 10-15 mins.

Yeah, we have already tried that and it had little to no affect on my son. And we have tea tree oil. Thanks though. The doc says that he just has a lot of puberty testosterone, and will grow out of it.
