There has been alot of car accidents around me lately and im petrified to get my license now... is driving worth the risks?

Absolutely. Still the safest mode of transportation. Your freedom will be severely curtailed without a driver's license. If we let all of the scary things in the world stop us, we'd never get out of bed in the morning. Get yourself some good driving lessons, prepare as well as you can, always be a defensive driver and get out there and go for it!!
