  • This is soooooooooooo needed!! Please atleast put the option there for those of us who would use it. I'm still holding my opinion on the new stuff. I, like most people, don't like change but am learning to give things a chance and next thing you know I do like it. Funny how we humans are, isn't it? Anyway, God Bless,<:))))<><
  • So...than we'er goonn'g to gedd the cwestshun boodtd (eevun tho it mite b logicul, genrlly helpfell, and anserabble)...over spelly. I dunnoh. Seems purty prissy t' me!
  • It's not only spelling errors that are the problem on this site. The shambolic corruption and abbreviation of English words is particularly infuriating. There are thousands of examples that have passed by my eyes on this site, but a few examples of this awful habit are the use of "dis" instead of "this", "thx" instead of "thanks" and "bk" instead of "back". In addition, there appears to be a complete lack of awareness or perhaps a complete avoidance of punctuation in many questions and answers, as well poor capitalisation. I am sure regular users on Answerbag will attest to the above and will join me with our pitch forks and flamed torches to hunt down those responsible.
  • I suck at spelling and will definitly not be an English Major. Maybe answerbag should make a spell check for thoes of us who are spelling disabled, but if I'm really unsure of how to spell a word, I usually open up Microsoft word and spell check it there. Not being able to spell does not make a person stupid, as long as you can understand what they are saying, get over it and stop being an Obsessive grammar Nazi. It should not be flagged!
  • I think a little accidental mispelling serves to remind one that this site is made of actual people. Sometimes I miss a key when my brain gets ahead of my fingers. I use ASpell though, so I am exempt... when I pay attention to the red squiggly underline.
  • duplicate post, please flag as nonsense.
  • Hi Egao, interesting question. I remember making a similar suggestion on a blog not too long ago, Rich replied... ( Yay! I found it,...) I asked... "Would it be possible for users to edit existing questions for typos, and grammatical errors, to maintain the value of content? In a similar way we flag, of course, approved by the staff, and not changing the meaning, just affecting the searchability, and quality of content?" Rich replied... "The bottleneck there would be admin review, and allowing people to edit other people's content would be ripe for abuse. What we have considered is allowing users to flag questions (not answers) for spelling/grammar and provide a space to suggest corrections. I'd love for all AB questions to be grammatically correct, but with the submission volume we have now, let alone all the older questions, the same review bottleneck problem would still exist. It would only work if we could support it properly."   Perhaps it is on the list of things to do. It would certainly improve the quality of the site.
