When I try to play Kingdom Hearts 2, I can get to the main menu but as soon as i highlight load game it freezes. Since my PS2 can play other games, it's probably the disk. But how do I fix it?

Are there scratches or dirt smudges on the plastic CD surface? If so you can try resurfacing the CD. Use a trusted brand like gamedoctor or DVDdoctor those have worked very well for me in the past. Another thing you could do is bring it in to the place you bought the game or go to your local game rental shop. I'm sure they would have some way to clean/resurface CD's there. Most of them might do it for free too, especially if you bought the game from their store.
