  • Historically speaking Christopher Columbus was trying to find a shortcut to the Indies. He didn't stop and ask for directions. I think he set the precedent for this back in 1492.
  • Guys like gadgets, though. Invest in an automobile GPS (preferably one with a rechargeable battery.) Keep it in your pocket book or whatever you carry your stuff in. When you go on a trip and the directions "get shaky", casually introduce the GPS. Most likely the guy will be more interested in the new "toy" than defending his honor over not knowing which way to go. -
