The Fennec Fox is the pet for me! They are very social, and they get along very well with people and other household pets. They have a high energy level, which would be perfect for tiring out my crazy dogs! Not to mention, who could resist this face? :D

- I didn't forget you, 60B. I figured we could get another Fennec Fox and with his brand new ear muffs on he won't be able to hear too well so you will have to have him as an inside pet. I reckon a wombat will be good for your fennec because once wombats are tame they love walking next to you, like really next to you as in leaning on your legs when you walk. So the wombat could keep your fennec comapny as well as being his hearing aid wombat for when they need to go outside. How does that sound?

- Wombat is too selfish to notice new fennec ear muffs. Once he gets to know fennec he will lean on him. Just be careful walking around because wombat will try to trip you up. (actually, seriously, wombats do this!) Don't try to move wombat because they fart and nip! Otherwise they are good pets. Just give them a pipe to squeeze into. They love tunnels. Fennec and wombat will be good friends.

- Skunks do look adorable. I didn't know you could have them de-scented. We don't have them over here. I wish we did. I like the looks of racoons as well. They look like little burglarss. You have so many interesting animals. We just have beautiful birds, marsupials, lizards and spiders. Oh, and crocs. Have you ever smelt a skunk? If so, please try and describe the smell to me. ;-Q

  Funny story: I was right outside my back door one night, and saw something out of the corner of my eye. I looked down, and about six feet away, a family of skunks (four) waddled along, oblivious to me. I froze!! They ignored me and continued waddling. Another night, I was walking outside and heard a loud "hissssss" I stopped and looked - a skunk! I gave him a wide berth, and continued on my way.
  They are very cute, and can be litter-boxed trained.

- Or if the wombat doesn't appeal I could make it a Tassie Devil. They are always screeching and screaming and opening their mouths really wide but it is mostly just posturing. I think the Devil and the Fennec could be friends but I would advise that you feed them separately or the devil might revert to his wild behaviour and seriously decrease the size of the fennec's ears.

- Actually, Most Tassie Devils are dying from facial tumours that scientist's think is a virus. Very sad! Wouldn't want fennec diseased. Back to wombat. Fennec will like wombat, promise! I looked fennecs up on youtube last night. God, they are gorgeous. They can be housetrained as well so that's a good thing. With his new wombat friend and his nice new warm ear muffs he will be the envy of every other fox in the neighbourhood.

- So sad about the Tassie virus... that's just awful! I am going to have to do the same and look the Fennecs up on youtube - I will probably end up wanting one even more. They can be housetrained? - Apparently you have to watch the fennecs though and keep them on a lead. One site says that they act like cats and follow you until they can escape and when they do they are impossible to find.
  
  There are a lot of Devils being raised in captivity who don't have the virus. I went to the zoo about a year ago and a devil was on the other side of some glass. It was gnashing at the glass trying to get me! Did you know when they are born they are about an inch long. Then they crawl up their mother's underside and into her pouch. Yea, they have a pouch like a kangaroo. Weird, eh?

- I don't work with animal although I would love to. I don't have any pets because they are not allowed in the building where I live. I was always taking home orphaned animals when I was a kid. Possums and hedgehogs mostly. I do read a lot about them. I think that's why I know so much.

- Jodie, Look up baby hedgehog videos on youtube, you'll love them. A hedgehog would be ideal. Only problem is they are nocturnal. The ones I had as a kid would sleep in the hotwater cupboard during the day, then come out at about 8pm and go outside. They would return in the morning and go back into the cupboard after we gave them some food. Friendly little critters once they get to know you. Sh*t, it's 1.30 a.m. and I'm off to bed to try and sleep. I'm an insomniac. It's a bugger. Chat again soon. :-D lol

- Yes you can. When I was a child, we had one that could whistle theme songs from various TV shows, and he would imitate sounds or dialogue from TV. They are pretty smart little birds, but they require lots of socialization with their people outside the cage, or else they get snappy.

I've had three of those and I'd have to say right now the one that would be useful and fun to have would be a llama. The cats I have right now would make quick work of a tasty morsel like a tiel. Not like one cat I had who would let the poor bird nestle down and sleep in his fur LOL!!!

- Cockatiel, the piggy and iguana though I had friends that had llamas and I've taken care of them. I'd love to hike with them. They are nearly as handy as a horse but they leave a softer hoofprint:-)

- I wish I had known you wanted them Galeanda....I would of offered to give you three of them back a year ago. There was another farmer who I meet up at the cattle sells one night. He offered to just give them away. He stated that they keep the coyotes away from the cattle real well. Being they where free, I asked my Father about them & was told to bring them on home. Well they may of keep the coyotes away alright. But our problem was that for some reason. They spooked the cattle & could not blend into "this heard" at all. I would have thought do to all the deer & horses around here, that there would be no problem. I thought wrong. So I just gave them away. I also told the person why & that was no problem to them. Do to they had nothing else like cattle on their place. Dad told me a few days later, he had people offering to buy them from him. I told him it was to late now!!!! I done gave them away........LOL

- LOL!!! Where we lived many people kept them with flocks of sheep to keep the bad critters away, either a llama or a watch donkey. They can get pretty vicious to invaders of their territory. The males didn't bring too much money but the females did, especially if they had a pretty colored coat. I've only met 1 with a nasty temper and it would spit at everything. But the ones I knew were sweet and very easy to handle.I thought they were sweethearts:-)

I would love a couple of fennec foxes. They are so cute but get very lonely, that's why I would need two. They are gorgeous with their huge ears.

cockatiel would be the easiest to take care of. but all those listed require proper knowledge on the owners behalf. and some of them i dont think should be pets at all.
