  • Yes. If you are good, you can walk on as a frosh or soph and pick up a scholarship later. There are always frosh and soph who drop out or become academically ineligle which voids their scholarship, making it available for others. As far as other scholarships, check with the Financial Aid office or apply directly for the scholarship. Many times, people get 4 year scholarships and drop out, leaving the money available for advanced students. Also, sometimes scholarships are set aside for 3rd and 4th year students who have excelled in their fresh and soph yrs. And sometimes there are scholarships set aside for people named Beatrix, and the Beatrix receiving the scholarship graduated last year, making the money available for another Beatrix, or people named Beatrix who are participating in intercollegiate athletics but can't get an athletic scholarship. (Substitute any ethnic group, religion, major, gender, etc for Beatrix). You would be surprised at what some of the scholarships are reserved for....... So, go for it.
  • Of course you can! there are plenty of returning-student scholarships out there. You can even check your school's financial aid site or www.studentawards.com.
