You're reading I am computer illiterate. Every time I download Lime wire {music} my computer craps out. I have 512MB. 3600+2.00GHz. Not sure what it means. Can someone help? Freebee computer. Can I upgrade it or should I just buy a better one?
Comments
Indeed. The computer specs are plenty fine for what you are doing.

Thanks. Can you guys recommend a good music site.

Like....legit? I used to use KCeasy since it can do multiple networks. But I honestly haven't downloaded any music in over a year probably.

MLDonkey (which I currently use) and Shareaza do too. However, I always got/get the most hits from eDonkey. How do you think I found the Ozzy cover of Stayin' Alive?
Limewire uses the Gnutella network which just lacks the content I generally seek.

Good to know. I am kinda out of the loop on standard P2P stuff. I just use torrents and mainly grab anime and random odd things.

BitTorrent only really works for "always-on" connections. I have *NEVER* managed to d/l even a single byte of a torrent.
I have managed to grab anime, music, and (mostly) gaming PDFs from the eMule network. Much of it was stuff I never knew existed, like the aforementioned Ozzy cover.
.
There is also the eMugle search engine ( http://www.emugle.com/ ) - quite nice.
Additionally, Sancho allows me to do FTP and HTTP downloads with full pause/resume capability. Very handy for someone who can only d/l 3.0Kbps and has a 4 hour session limit. How do you think I got the 23MB driver for my HP printer?

You guys are way over my head on this. I just want to listen to music. I tried Piratesbay with bittorrent and tried to put it on my windows media player. No go. I am a baby when it comes to anything about computers. I need baby steps. Thanks.
