Is Bollywood (Indian Movies) really becoming popular world wide as it is made out to be off late, Have any of you had a chance to see it in theatres and did you like them?

i personally own over 350 bollywood dvd/vcr tapes. I love, love, love, Bollywood films. They stores are usually really good and I cry like a baby at the ending of a lot (Devdas, Khabie Kushi Khabi, Gham) and they also have great comedies (Coolie Number 1- Govinda is the best, followed by Johnny Lever). I am not Hindi, by the way.From what I see it the papers and on the web, yes - it is becoming more popular and more and more people are watching.

I love Bollywood movies. My favorite is The Bandit Queen. I would have to drive to a bigger city to see them in the theater, you don't see them too much here, but I rent them at the video store. The last one I saw had a Paris Hilton lookalike in it with dark hair!(it was Asoka)

I love Bollywood films! I was fortunate enough to visit that area of Mumbai when I was in India a couple of years ago. The studios are almost as good as those in Hollywood. It's really fun to watch a Bollywood movie on Indian teevee in a Mumbai hotel or at the home of an Indian pal. I also like the musical performances. Some of those ladies have great singing voices and the styles of music seem sort of retro. It's hard to put the feeling into words. swabby

It's fun watching Bollywood movies. I too have some good collection on DVDs. There are so many and difficult to say which one is better than other. The one liked and watched many times: Munna Bhai MBBS, Devdas, Bride and Prejudice, Fire, Water (both by Deepa Mehta, Water nominated from Emmy Awards, Mississip Masala, kashmir, Bombay, Khakee, and the list can go forever.
