  • Sounds like something my boyfriend goes on about. a definite good answer to 'why are we here?' - well were not really here in the forst place!
  • Actually, in the bit, he is talking about the use of LSD and how when you hear about it in the news there is always some dumb*** doing something, well, dumb. The line actually starts out, "You never hear, 'today, a young man on acid realized....'", and ends with "Here's Tom with the weather!". He was a great comedian who would probably offend most with his political views and smoking jokes and abortion views.
  • Bill Hicks was the comedian I was referring to and the line also shows up on Tool's Aenima album at the beginning of one of their songs, I think third eye.
  • bill hicks, was going on about how, they always portray drugs negatively in the media and how they fail to mention the positive aspects of drug use. when he says this particular quote, he is talking about a scenario where the media actually talks about the positive side of drug use. The news reader, says some thing along the lines of 'today a young man on LSD realised all matter is energy condensed...........' n ends with "here's tom with the whether".. -rip bill hicks
  • Someone somewhere went to sleep And dreamed us all alive Dreams get pushed around a lot And I doubt if we'll survive. We won't get to wake up Dreams were born to disappear. And I'm pretty sure that none of us is here. ~excerpt from Jim Stafford song
  • Our perceptions are merely the product of our imagination. All sights, sounds, tastes, smells, and feelings are internal. It is impossible for us to step out of ourselves so ultimately our brain has to decipher a code sent from our senses. The result is a perception that is no more real than a dream. All matter is composed of atoms which are ultimately energy. Therefore everything is connected by the same energy,and in a sense, we are all one. Since energy can never be destroyed... death is not real. Our consciousness is simply a self-awareness and life as we know it is just an illusion. Our brain is very good at creating illusion. When we are asleep we call it dreaming.
  • "Today, young men on acid realize that all matter is merely energy condensed to a slow vibration. That we are all part of one consciousness experiencing itself subjectively. There’s no such thing as death, life is only a dream and we’re the imagination of ourselves. These are the brilliant words of comedian Bill Hicks (way more funny than Dane Cook or any of these “mainstream” comics out there), made famous by the song “Third Eye,” on Tool’s Ænima album. At face value, they seem pretty far fetched. A little closer look into their meaning seems to border on the esoteric. Lately, and for unknown reasons, these words have been going through my mind quite a bit. Thinking about life. What it really is. There’s no such thing as death? We’re the imagination of ourselves?"   • It is very interesting that all solidity on earth is made up of atoms which in turn are made up of sub atomic particles which in turn are made up of energy vibrating at a particular rate/frequency. At the sub atomic level there is no such thing as solid as we experience it and it is only our brains that decode impulses sent there from our infinatly limited five senses. At our purest state we are beings of energy decoding and experiencing the illusion of a solid world. Is the purpose of all this to simply allow ones consciousness to experience the reality its "solid" vehicle/body decodes?; what created this matrix of illusion?;
