  • You can buy solutions that you place in the fish tank water to reduce or prevent the growth of the algae, but I don't know how effective they are. It is reasonable to assume they don't affect the fish, otherwise it would be a rather pointless product. Go to a Pet Store or even a Garden centre that sells fish.
  • I would not add any chemical too quick; usually you want to check some things first. -Is your tank in any sunlight? if so move it away from a window. -You can put backer and side images on your tank, or just a flat color to block sunlight -Depending on size of tank and amount of fish an algae eater might be a possibility. -A magnetic scrubber is a lifesaver, one side on the inside of your tank and one on the outside.
  • Well i dont know if you can stop it from growing but you can feed you fish less food so they eat the algae.
