  • Depends on the state-some are easier than others. Fl, NY and CA are not what I would call "easy"
  • Missmezzo is right, it depends on the state. Pennsylvania USED to be so easy, they called it "the candy bar" but about five years ago, they made it really tough. California and New York are supposedly the toughest. California is so mean, when a guy had a heart attack during the exam about ten years ago and a doc and a nurse who were taking the exam helped him, they wouldn't give the doc & nurse extra time to finish the test! California's exam is a three-day endurance contest, and it's almost impossible for people with certain disabilities to complete it. They are vicious about accomodating disabilities too -- a woman asked to be put in a private room so her coughing wouldn't disturb the other test-takers, and they charged her with threatening to interfere with the test! Florida and California also put arbitrary limits on how many people they will ALLOW to pass the test. This is because they don't want retired attorneys moving there and continuing to practice. So they set a quota, and no matter what your score, if they have decided they will only let five hundred people pass, and your score is 501st from the top, you don't pass.
  • well...considering that all one hears about attorneys these days is that they are some kind of ghastly mistake in the human gene pool, one would have to wonder that ANY exam such apparently souless blood-sucking vampire/shark hybrids could pass is 'too easy'
  • Hillary Clinton flunked hers the first time. And isn't she supposed to be the smartest woman in the world, maybe the smartest woman in history?
  • No not at all! Its the most stressful exam I ever took!!
  • Not at all. I know *I* couldn't pass it.
  • I just took the Arizona Bar Exam and passed but that was the most difficult and stressful exam I've ever taken. It's a 2 day exam: Day 1 you have to write 12 essays - Con Law, Torts, Evidence, Contracts, Arizona Community Property, Civ Pro, Crim Pro, Crim Law, Corporations, Wills and Trusts, Property and Professional Responsibility. Day 2 is the MBE. Everyone walked out of that exam wanting to die.
