Help answer this question below.

All right here it goes. I have an 87 Olds Cutlass Ciera V6 3.8L and need to replace the starter. I am having allot of trouble removing it and just want the opinion of someone who has dealt with this issue. Thank you for any input.

what kind of trouble are you having? is it accessing the starter, or figuring out how to remove it?

- here's the procedure for a Ciera for removing a starter from the book:
  
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Properly discharge the air conditioning system into a recycling recovery machine. Refer to .
  3. Remove the cooling fan assembly.
  4. Remove the front exhaust manifold.
  5. Raise and support the vehicle safely.
  6. Remove the bolts from the flywheel inspection cover and remove the cover.
  7. Disconnect the air conditioner condenser hose from the compressor and position aside. Cap the opening.
  8. Disconnect the starter motor electrical wiring.
  9. Remove the 2 bolts attaching the starter.
  10. Remove the starter and any shims.
