Most of the stuffing envelopes jobs are scams. You send your $2 in for info and the guy sends you back instructions to post an ad in a newspaper just like he did. Then people send you $2 and you send them the instructions. Then you are making money stuffing envelopes. Child care is a big "at home" money maker.

Contact your local newspaper and see if they are looking for anyone to deliver in certain suburbs. You get paid while getting exercise. You could also try delivering junk mail.

Do not getinvolved with make money at home scams. They are one of the biggest scams going. Do you no think that people could make thousands a week stuffing envelopes everyone would stay home and stuff envelopes. Call the BBB before involving yourself with any ot those businesses. Mr Bill

Stuffing envelopes? You make $2 or $5 per envelope, right? "Just send in $2 or $5 dollars for the information."

    How that works:
1). You see an ad that promises you a certain amount of money for each envelope you stuff.
2). You request the information and send in the same amount of money you would make for stuffing one envelope.
3). You receive the instructions which tell you to post an ad stating that you are looking for people to stuff envelopes.
4). The pigeons, (er, customers) will send you money for the information. [You were the previous "pigeon" (er, customer), now you are looking for "pigeons"(er, customers).]
5). When you receive their order, you steal (er, take) the money they paid for the information and you send them the same instructions.

Can you make money doing this...that would depend on how many gullible people you are able to find.

A better question would be, Can you sleep at night KNOWING that this is really a form of scamming and possibly a federal crime (you'd be using the Postal Service)? I couldn't do that to people :(
    It would make me sad.

If you want to do something that actually makes the world a better place, try creating a product that promotes health or beauty or fun (etc) and selling it.

There are many great ideas out there!
Here is one that's inexpensive, yet profitable to start!

Stuffing envelopes is fine. What I've done that job before though (and I would think is preferable), is to go into a reputable business, sit in at table full of people and fold advertisements up and sealing the envelope; it was a decent-paying temp job. I would also recommend looking in the classifieds for landscaping jobs--those pay fairly decent (often cash at the end of the week) and it's a good work-out. :)

Or maybe try a secret shopper? Those you'd need to hunt around for a legitimate site... stand by for one that I know works... (need to research myself)

You'd be better off delivering pizzas on the side.

You would be better off getting a part time job and Jewel or Target. My aunt sells Mary Kay, and that is her full time job. It's not easy, though. You have to go up to women you don't know and try to tell them they need make-up.

Sell hand-made crafts on Ebay or a community. Quite a bit of money on the side to be done in your free time.

Buy items off ebay, then sell them later on for a marginally higher price. I guarantee, that with better, genuine-looking item photos, and a good description, you will make a profit. Search your basement/attic/garage for old vintage things, people love that.Trust me, many people make a living out of this when it's done successfully.

Hey Changegrl, ive been freelancing for the last 2 and a half years, but have also managed to make an additional few hundred bucks every month just from utilising free resourses on the internet...

After getting BADLY scammed myself by a couple of internet programs, I opened up my own free resourse site teaching anyone how they can make some extra money online...it doesn't cost anything, and the cash flow comes from wealthy marketing companies, meaning that the average joe doesn't get charged anything..I personally believe this is a far more ethical approach ESPECIALLY given the current economic state..

You can see it at: www.peoplehelpingpeople.tk

    Hope it helps,
    Roo.
