There's no question in my mind that there will be freedom demonstrations during the Olympics. The question is, how efficiently the security forces will crush them like defiant ants.
-
I am sure there will, but the question is how much will they affect the schedule.
-
There will be. I know of a group 'Students for a Free Tibet' who are planning on sending representatives. I'm worried the Chinese government will use violence against any protesters.

With the tight control the Chinese government has over the media (many internet sites have been blocked to visitors), I think if there were any protest, it would not be reported and the protestors would be squelched immediately, and probably pay a big price for it.:( I think it unlikely...remember Tianemen(sp?) Square? Or was that before your time? :(

Guaranteed. And you can be sure any demonstrations will be quickly squashed. I believe they will be imprisoned and would be surprised if they are treated sweetly and kindly! Chinese do not like to 'lose face' and there is a lot of potential for that with demonstrators. My fear is that there will be a terrorist attack.... I wouldn't go to these games if my trip was all expenses paid!
