Good thing you're dating him and not his Mom. Now that you know how she feels, just ask your boyfriend to not tell you things that his Mom says when you aren't around - its not like you need to hear that! When she is around, force yourself to be the better person and be cordial at least. Even though it may make you feel uncomfortable to date someone whose parents aren't very respectful, remind yourself of why you're dating him and minimize your time at his house.

As big boo says, you're dating him, not his mom. There are always going to be intolerant people. It's just a fact of life. It can make things really difficult and it can hurt your self esteem, but the best thing you can do is act in a way that shows her you're every bit deserving of her son's attention. Sometimes it's unfamiliarity that breeds fear, which in turn breeds intolerance. It's her loss, not yours. She's missing out on experiencing so much more in life by turning her back on groups of people. Be sorry for her, teach her. Don't be intimidated by her. Good luck.
