if its still very tiny (like a month) you might only feel a bit of cramping like your period. but if your going for an abortion, it will hurt, but its not so bad that you'll faint.

If its early in the pregnancy a person may only feel cramping like a period..they call these missed miscarriages :)

I miscarried at 3 months and didn't know until I went into the doctor and got a sonogram. They baby hadn't passed yet so I got a D and C (http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/D%20and%20C) which they put me under for. The healing process was pretty painful.

Like everything to do with reproduction, there are differences from woman to woman. Some have no problems with menstruation, others have severe pain each month. Some women give birth easily, others have terrible trouble. Some women lose babies and don't even notice (especially if it is a very early miscarriage), others have a lot of pain.

Yes they can be non painful - but if you are bleeding - it doesn't mean you are having a miscarriage! Get it checked out! Medical (Tablet form) enduced misscarriages do appear to me to be more painful than surgical. IMO (Never having had one - but working in A&E or the ER if you are American)

i was only six weeks pregnant and just experienced my miscarriage about a week ago. I experienced painful cramping-worse than my period. I began spotting then the bleeding got heavier and i was passing a lot of clotting. The cramps were awful! It varies from woman to woman. Im sad but everything happens for a reason. God just wanted my baby back in His/Her arms.
